My Saved Countdowns
The online countdown timer allows you to track, in real-time, how much time is left until any event: deadlines, birthdays, trips, launches, and goals. Create one or more events with a name and date/time, use seasonal presets (New Year, Christmas, Halloween), share via link, and upon completion, celebrate with fireworks and a sound alert—all directly in your browser with data saved locally.
How to use the countdown timer (step-by-step)
Define the event: type a clear name (e.g., "Trip - Departure") and choose the date/time.
Add to list: click "Add to List." The event will now be updated in real-time.
Quick presets (optional): use the New Year, Christmas, or Halloween buttons to auto-fill.
Share via link: use the share icon to copy a URL with the event data (parameters ?event= and &date=).
Last 10 seconds: the app highlights and pulses the final seconds and emits beeps (if audio is enabled).
On completion: fireworks and celebration music are displayed/played; click the stop icon (replaces the trash icon) to end the celebration.
Application features (highlights)
Multiple simultaneous countdowns: manage several events at the same time.
URL sharing: copy a link that recreates the countdown in another tab/device.
Seasonal presets: shortcuts for popular dates (New Year, Christmas, Halloween).
Visual highlights: pulsing in the last 10s and focus on the seconds area.
Integrated audio:beep in the last 10s and celebration music on completion (requires user interaction to unlock audio in some browsers).
Privacy by default: events are saved only in your browser (localStorage).
Responsive and themed: works well on desktop and mobile, following the light/dark theme.
Best practices
Name descriptively: include context (e.g., "Thesis Defense - Presentation").
Check timezone/daylight saving: verify your device's date/time and timezone to avoid discrepancies.
Unlock audio early: click any button when opening the page to allow sounds when needed.
Keep the tab open: real-time updates require the page to remain open (it can be in the background).
Technical limitations
Active session: closing the tab pauses the countdown; saved events reappear upon reopening.
Autoplay policy: some browsers only allow audio after user interaction.
System clock: accuracy depends on your device's clock.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I share? Click the share button; a link with ?event= and &date= will be copied to your clipboard.
Does it work if I close the tab? No. Real-time counting requires the tab to be open, but your events remain saved locally.
What happens when it reaches zero? The app plays a sound (if enabled) and shows fireworks; the delete button turns into a "stop" button to end the celebration.
Is my data private? Yes. Nothing is sent to servers; everything stays on your device.
